choice x change

Few weeks back, I've been interviewed by my friend from Pestle & Mortar Clothing for their next project: STOP.THINK.DECIDE with Reddbullets. The interview was about choices that you have in this country and changes that you really want to see. (I tell you, I was pretty suck during the interview. Crap)

Hours after that, I kept thinking about it; what choice do I have and what change that I wish that I can see.

Food

As a vegetarian, I have quite limited choice of food to eat. Lucky enough I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian. Otherwise, most of the time I have to stay hungry. I have to spend extra ringgit just for a meat-free meal for my lunch and dinner. Problem is when I mingle out with my friends. And, I don't understand why they must put anchovies or 'belacan' in their food. Is it a must? Will it change the taste of the food if they don't put that stuff in their food? I wonder.

I would love to see changes in people's diet especially in this country. Okay, too ambitious. At least, in Klang Valley.

Go veg! ;)

Note: The world's cattle consume an amount of food equivalent to the calorie requirements of 8.7 billion people. More than enough to feed 925 million hungry people in the world (2010).

Transport

Well, I'm not a kind of person who love to drive especially in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and around Klang Valley. But, due to my work and limited choice of transportation that I can choose (public bus services sucks, Klang Valley are not well covered by train and most taxi drivers here are parasite). It leave me with one and only option if I want to go to Kuala Lumpur and other area in Klang Valley; drive. I am blessed that my workplace is just a kilometer away from my house.

I can only see changes in this area if the Government decided upgrade and update our transportation services (which they claim they did). And our taxi drivers to change their mindset too.

Television

We only have one satellite TV; Astro and since 1996, they rule our idiot box at home. In April 2011, Astro service has close to 3 million customers (equal to 50% of Malaysian TV homes.)

And the Censorship Board is the real pain in the ass with their illogical restrictions; like you can't show your armpit on TV?

Can any big shot fucking filthy rich people out there just come up with another 1 or 2 satellite TV?

Job

It's hard to find any working place that can 'offer' you a good job satisfaction and environment, and a good pay. You will either get one or none. Of course you don't want do a job with a low pay but the amount of job that you need to do are tonnes. And you (I bet) you don't want a job which will make you earn a lot but the environment and satisfaction are nil.

I really look forward for the Government's Minimum Wage Act. I am happy for where I am but a little fix in my monthly paycheck will be good.

We always fear and hate at things that we couldn't see. Things that we couldn't hear or basically, we are afraid and hate to things that we don't know.

As a mere example, years ago I was afraid of dog. I despise them. Everytime I walk near them, I always makesure that I hold something that I can toss to them. I bet many of do share this kind of fear and hate. But soon, I realise that I react in such way because I don't know them, don't understand them and I don't overcome my fear. And now, after I know them (well enough, I guess), I am not afraid of dog anymore but I will run if I've been chased by a pitbull or German sherperd.

I write this because of what happened last night; the match between Malaysia Olympic team and Chelsea Football Club. In that match, midfielder Yossi Benayoun was booed by the spectators just because he is a Jew (or because he is an Israelite) and it was humiliating. Not just for him but for the local sports fans and supporters.

Why do he deserve to receive that kind of treatment? Because he was created by God and born as an Israel Jew? Is that why we punish him? Is that why the Israel's cricket team couldn't enter this country many years ago? It doesn't make sense and unfair. Why don't this kind of people blame God for what has happened? Curse the Almighty because after all He is the One who create the Jews.

My first encounter with a Jew was roughly around 7 to 8 years ago in Bukit Bintang. He was from Thailand and a penpal of my friend, and my friend didn't know that he is a Jew (because he doesn't look like one. Probably, because he lived in Thailand long enough). We were a bit shocked and spechless after he confessed that he is a Jew. After a few hours chat, I realise that he is a nice guy, same like us and other human out there. And the reason why we react like that was because we don't know him. His culture and religion.

Some people out there (my friends, especially) said that they should be hated for what they've done in Middle East. I say, then we should hate our own religion too. After what Saddam Hussein did to his neighbour countries and his own people. Look what Taliban did to Afghanistan. Or, we don't have to look far. Look at our country, our people hurt and kill our own people.

Back to Benayoun's story. Yes, he is an Israel Jew but that doesn't mean he is a bad guy. And don't call me Zionist sympatiser. For me, it it simple. There are always a good people and bad people. No matter what age, gender, race, religion and where they from. And no I'm not a Chelsea supporter.

Life.

It will be pretty much easier if it's really like a game; like a normal arcade game that you usually see at the game center. Once you are 'dead', you just need to insert coin(s) to resume or restart. You can keep doing it for zillion time until you reach the end.

Or, like a computer game where you can save your game, and continue at the same spot after you are 'dead'. You can use a cheat-code to help you win the game. To hell if anyone call you a cheater; it's only a game. Not a big deal.

Or, like a console game where you can throw away your controller whenever you are pissed. Curse at the monitor without feeling guilty. Or, if you fed up with the game; buy another one and start the things all over again.

I'm amazed in how human brain and body works.

It's like rhythm and song. A music and lyric.

Complimenting each other in harmony.

Cooperating to be a good 'host' to the soul.

I didn't take any single food for about 16-18 hours. Maybe more.

Thanks to myself for didn't wake up early for sahur

But I managed to stay throughout the day. Unhurt.

My brain and body was well trained for this feeling; hungry, and cope with it.

Whenever I feel so unhappy or feel so down.

I'll implant a happy thought in my brain.

Let it in there for awhile, and in few hours the brain will do the wonder.

You'll slowly forget about any shit happened. At least, for a while.

I went cycling few months back. 70 kilometres plus the distance.

It was crazy. I was in pain and almost give up. I wanted to turn back.

I told my brain, "This is nothing. You can do it. This is nothing, fuck".

And at last I made it.

I wonder where is our brain and body's limit.
And I'll keep pushing both to the edge and force them to show me.

I used to write (crap) a lot in here. I write about whatever things that I saw, read and heard. Whether it's nice or not. I bitch about whatever shits that happened to me. Good or bad (well, mostly the bad ones). Until one day, I stop doing so. I rarely write. I just post pictures after pictures, and after pictures. And I don't know the reason why.

I miss doing all that. Writing and crapping. There's a lot of things to say, to write, to hate, to curse back then.

Or maybe, I'm just too lazy.

Which is it can't be helped then.

1. Hari minggu yang lepas adalah hari minggu yang (sangat) sibuk. Penggambaran untuk satu game show pada hari Sabtunya, dari siang ke tengah malam buta. Ahad pula dengan tak cukup tidurnya, aku ke majlis perkahwinan sepupuku di Serdang.

2. Waktu majlis perkahwinan sepupu. Sekarang, antara sepupu-sepupu yang sebaya tinggal aku seorang yang masih ehemm, bujang. Trend question untuk hari itu; "Giliran kamu bila lagi?"

3. Manchester United kembali ke tempat teratas liga, kelmarin. Semalam pula, Chelski dengan celakanya memotong. Shite.

4. Pagi-pagi, tayar Black Pearl pancit. Tak fasal-fasal kena pergi kerja jalan kaki. Aku sangka petanda untuk hari yang tidak baik.

5. Boleh dikatakan hari ini adalah yang sibuk dan produktif untuk aku.

5. Suasana di pejabat sedang sibuk, kecoh dan huru-hara. Bukan sebab kerja, tapi sebab makan percuma.

6. Orang kata aku makin kurus. Mungkin sebab aku kurang makan sejak kebelakangan ini. Mungkin juga sebab busy.

7. Bulan Mei, bulan yang sibuk. Semakin dekat. Haih.

8. Burp.

9. Aku tak faham kenapa susah benar nak bekerja dengan jabatan-jabatan awam. Aku ingat, masalah procrastinating aku dah cukup teruk. Ada lagi teruk rupanya.
